Phil Jagielka urges England patience

England defender Phil Jagielka urges fans to be patient with the squad ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.

England defender Phil Jagielka has called on fans to be patient with the current team ahead of next year's World Cup in Brazil.

The Three Lions' preparations for the tournament were dealt a blow during the past week with friendly defeats against Chile and Germany respectively.

However, Jagielka has been quick to stress that the squad knows that there is still work to do before they travel to South America.

"We are still a work in progress and it is all about progression," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"We have some more friendlies coming up before the World Cup, and we know what we need to do to improve."

Jagielka is expected to return to the Everton starting lineup on Saturday for their Premier League clash with Liverpool at Goodison Park.
