Ashkan Dejagah: 'Felix Magath the man to save Fulham'

Ashkan Dejagah backs Felix Magath to repeat his miracle escape from relegation from their time with Wolfsburg and keep rock-bottom Fulham in the Premier League.

Ashkan Dejagah is confident that newly-appointed manager Felix Magath can repeat his miracle escape with Wolfsburg and keep Fulham in the Premier League.

Dejagah scored as the Cottagers, who are bottom of the table and four points adrift of safety, drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion in Magath's first game in charge.

He is familiar with the experienced German coach, having been part of his 2011 Wolfsburg side that won three out of their last four games to secure an improbable stay in the Bundesliga.

"I know him well," he told the Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle. "He's a manager with a lot of experience and has worked with a lot of big teams in Germany. He's the right man for the job and hopefully we can come out of this situation.

"I won the title with him and we also had the same situation as we are in now at the bottom of the table. We stayed up on the last game, so anything can happen in football."

Fulham host top-of-the-table Chelsea in the West London derby at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
