Inter Milan have confirmed that Yuto Nagatomo will miss at least the next few weeks with a knee ligament injury.
The Japanese full-back was forced off with the problem during Sunday's 1-1 draw with AC Milan, and after tests Inter have concluded that he has suffered a tear to his knee ligaments.
Nagatomo will now definitely miss both legs of Inter's Europa League last-16 tie with Tottenham Hotspur, which begins next week.
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni is already without striker Diego Milito for the rest of this season after the Argentine underwent knee surgery last weekend.
The 26-year-old recently committed his long-term future to Inter by signing a contract extension until 2016.
