Juventus 0-2 Napoli

Napoli win their first Coppa Italia in 25 years with a 2-0 win over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Napoli have won their first Coppa Italia in 25 years with a 2-0 win over Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Juan Zuniga nearly gave Walter Mazzarri's side the lead inside the first two minutes, but his header at the back post was turned behind by Marco Storari.

Juve's first opportunity came after 17 minutes as Claudio Marchisio's stinging long-range drive was parried away by Morgan De Sanctis.

In his last appearance for the Old Lady, Alessandro Del Piero nearly gave himself the perfect send off, but his free kick was deflected away.

As Juventus pushed towards the end of the half, Marco Borriello's powerful effort flashed narrowly wide of the Napoli goal with De Sanctis beaten.

Antonio Conte's side should have been awarded a penalty in the dying stages of the half when Marchisio was felled by Salvatore Aronica. However, the referee waved away the appeals.

After a tentative opening to the second period, Napoli were awarded a penalty on the hour when Storari brought down Ezekiel Lavezzi. Edinson Cavani calmly tucked the kick away to give his side the lead.

Juventus's best chance of the half came when substitute Simone Pepe's goal-bound effort was heroically kept out by an outstretched Aronica.

Napoli sealed the win with five minutes to play as Marek Hamsik rounded off a counter attack when he slotted past Storari.

Juve's night was made worse in the final minutes when Fabio Quagliarella was shown a straight red card for an elbow on Aronica.
