Juventus have confirmed that they are on the verge of signing former Chelsea forward Nicolas Anelka.
The 33-year-old will join the Italian champions from Shanghai Shenhua for the remainder of the season, subject to him passing a medical and the deal being ratified by FIFA.
"We have an agreement with Anelka for five months with the possibility to sign a further deal if agreeable to both parties," said Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta.
"He arrives to add another option in the position where [Sebastian] Giovinco and [Mirko] Vucinic have played a lot. Then there is also [Alessandro] Matri and [Fabio] Quagliarella."
Anelka has been capped 69 times by France at international level, scoring 14 goals.
