Leeds United boss David Hockaday has praised his side for their improved performance during Tuesday's 2-1 win over Swindon Town.
Hockaday hit out at his players last weekend after their 2-2 draw with Chesterfield.
However, he reserved kinder words for them last night in the wake of their pre-season victory at the County Ground.
"I knew it was going to be a tough test because Swindon play good football. I just think that inch by inch we are getting better," he told the club's official website.
"I'm asking the players to get the ball down and play and they are trying to do that. I certainly think we did it in the first half.
"In regards to match management and actually winning games, there is lots of things that we need to work on but overall I think it is a step in the right direction."
Leeds are back in pre-season action on Saturday when they welcome Dundee United to Elland Road.
