Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has revealed that Kasper Schmeichel will undergo a minor operation on a hernia during the international break.
The Dane was an ever-present during Leicester's title success last season, but was forced off just short of the hour mark during his side's 2-1 victory over Swansea City this afternoon.
Schmeichel will now go for surgery on the problem, but Ranieri does not expect his goalkeeper to spend long on the sidelines.
"He played in the last month with a little hernia. On Monday, he will have an operation," he told reporters.
"Four or five days and he will be ready for the next match, but it was in the programme for him. We wanted him to play and he wanted to play but, after he felt something, we had to make a change."
Schmeichel is expected to be fit in time for Leicester's visit to Anfield to take on Liverpool on September 10.
