Gabriel Obertan joins Bulgarian side Levski Sofia

Former Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan signs for Levski Sofia on a two-year deal.

Former Manchester United and Newcastle United winger Gabriel Obertan has signed for Levski Sofia.

The Frenchman has entered a two-year contract with the Bulgarian outfit, according to Reuters.

Obertan joined United from Bordeaux in 2009 before signing for Newcastle two years later, making 77 appearances for the Magpies despite suffering persistent injury woes.

The 28-year-old has also played for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala and Wigan Athletic since leaving St James' Park.

At Levski, he will link up with his former Wigan teammate Jordi Gomez, who also signed for the club this summer.
