Roberto Firmino has insisted that Mohamed Salah "is appreciated by the whole team", despite his Liverpool teammate's below-par start to the season.
Salah has been unable to truly push on from a record-breaking maiden campaign at Anfield that saw him net 32 goals in the Premier League and a further 10 in the Reds' run to the Champions League final.
The Egypt international was injured in that showpiece match against Real Madrid in May and has not looked the same since, having been restricted to three goals in 11 outings so far in 2018-19.
Firmino remains full of praise for the 26-year-old, however, telling Al Arabiya: "Mohamed Salah is a great player. He is a fantastic partner, we discuss a lot of matters ever single day and I am very happy to play next to him.
"Salah is appreciated by the whole team and his excellent work is still going on for us. He is a sensitive lad as well. I believe Salah deserves all what has happened for him in his life and what he has so far achieved."
Liverpool are sweating on the fitness of Salah ahead of their trip to Huddersfield Town at the weekend.
