Tim Sherwood talks up Tiago Ilori potential

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood says that he is looking forward to working with new loanee Tiago Ilori following his move from Liverpool on deadline day.

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has said that he is looking forward to linking up with new loan signing Tiago Ilori.

The 22-year-old joined the Villans on a season-long deal from Liverpool on transfer deadline day, with the option to make the move permanent should he impress at Villa Park.

Sherwood revealed that the Portuguese defender had been on his radar for a while before he finally secured his services yesterday evening.

"He's someone I have been aware of for some time and I am looking forward to working with him," Sherwood told the club's official website.

"He's a young guy who I believe will enhance the group here."

Ilori joined Liverpool for £7m in 2013 but failed to make a single senior appearance under Brendan Rodgers, instead spending time out on loan at Granada and Bordeaux.
