Liverpool may reportedly have to pay £60m if they wish to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner in the summer.

Liverpool have reportedly discovered that they may have to pay £60m in order to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

The Merseyside giants are expected to be in the market for a centre-forward in the summer, and Jurgen Klopp is known to be an admirer of Werner.

The 22-year-old currently has less than 18 months remaining on his contract, but according to Bild, Leipzig want to hand the player a fresh deal with a release clause.

The report suggests that RB Leipzing would be happy to insert a figure of €70m (£60m) if Werner was prepared to pen fresh terms at Red Bull Arena Leipzig.

That fee is unlikely to deter Liverpool, but Leipzig would be able to receive a larger sum than they would currently be able to demand in the summer.

Werner has contributed 11 goals and two assists from 19 outings in the Bundesliga this season.
