Brendan Rodgers rules out signing new players before Monday's deadline

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers does not expect the club to sign anyone before Monday's transfer deadline.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that the club are highly unlikely to sign anyone before Monday's transfer deadline.

The Merseyside outfit have been linked to a few players in this window, namely goalkeepers, but they are yet to bring any additions to the squad.

The club did most of their strengthening last summer when they spent more than £100m on nine new faces, and while Rodgers has admitted that he would like to add a few more players to the squad, the Irishman expects a quiet few days.

"Every manager will always want more signings," Rodgers told reporters. "I would want to be able to do one or two things.

"But I always said the likelihood was we wouldn't sign anyone in January and it looks like that is going to be the case."

The Reds are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games.
