Zenit St Petersburg open talks with Mauricio Pochettino?

Zenit St Petersburg are reportedly interested in appointing former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly emerged as a managerial target for Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg.

Since his departure from Tottenham Hotspur just under a year ago, Pochettino has been heavily linked with a number of top European clubs.

Manchester City are allegedly one of the teams who monitoring the situation at a time when Pep Guardiola's long-term future at the Etihad Stadium remains unclear.

However, according to Championat, Zenit want to bring in Pochettino as a replacement for Sergei Semak.

As well as only sitting in third position in the domestic league table, Zenit suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League last week.

Club officials are allegedly prepared to hand Pochettino a deal worth just under £6m per year.
