Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has expressed his desire to represent the club in a major European final.
The Scot was an unused substitute during United's showpiece outings in 2008 and 2011, while he was suspended for the 2009 Champions League final in Rome.
However, ahead of tonight's quarter-final meeting with Bayern Munich, the Scotland international has admitted that it is a boyhood dream of his to turn out in such a prestigious fixture.
"For whatever reasons, I've not managed to play in a final," he explained at a press conference in Munich ahead of the quarter-final second leg.
"Different circumstances have prevented me from playing in three of them. It's been a dream of mine since I was a small boy to play in a Champions League final and winning [tonight] takes us into the semi-finals and gets you closer to achieving that."
United go into the clash with Bayern having played out a 1-1 draw with the German club during last week's first leg at Old Trafford.
