Manchester United and Manchester City could face each other in the final of the League Cup this season.
While United will take on Sunderland in the semi-finals of the competition, Manuel Pellegrini's City will confront West Ham United in the last four.
The ties will be played over two legs, the first of which will be held in the week commencing January 6.
The second legs of the semi-finals will be played in the week starting January 20.
