Jesse Lingard admits to feeling under "a lot of pressure" at Manchester United

Jesse Lingard admits that he feels under "a lot of pressure" while playing for Manchester United.

Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard has admitted that he feels under "a lot of pressure" playing for the Premier League club.

Since grabbing a place in the first team in October, Lingard has maintained a spot in the starting XI under manager Louis van Gaal.

In 30 appearances, the 23-year-old has scored five goals, but was overlooked by England manager Roy Hodgson for this week's friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.

"I'm still young, still improving and still learning the game but I've got to practise and train and put that to use when it comes to matches," Lingard told United Review.

"To be starting week in and week out at Manchester United is massive. It comes with a lot of pressure but you've got to cope with that. You've got to be confident, always, on and off the pitch, but not in the arrogant way."

Lingard made his senior debut in 2011.
