Garry Monk: 'Swansea City will have to be at their best against Manchester United'

Swansea City manager Garry Monk admits that his team will have to be at their best against Manchester United today.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has admitted that his side will "be in trouble" if they do not perform to their best against Manchester United today.

The Welsh outfit visit Old Trafford for this season's Premier League opener and Louis van Gaal's first game in charge at Old Trafford.

"I think I probably need to prove myself a bit more than [Van Gaal] does after the career he has had," Monk told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

"He is in a different situation to me. He is at one of the biggest clubs in the world and at that level the importance of winning trophies is massive so that is a different type of pressure.

"But my focus is on the game and it doesn't matter what team they play, if we are not quite at it then we are going to be in trouble."

Swansea recently confirmed the exit of both Chico Flores and Pablo Hernandez.
