Jose Mourinho: 'Marcus Rashford made a difference'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho insists that Marcus Rashford will have "a lot of chances" to play this season following his match-winning cameo against Hull.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that he is "really happy" with Marcus Rashford's match-winning cameo against Hull City this evening.

The 18-year-old striker was handed his first Premier League action of the campaign as a 71st-minute introduction at the KCOM Stadium, and he went on to score the winning goal in the second minute of stoppage time.

Rashford is expected to remain behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the pecking order at the club, but Mourinho insists that there are "a lot of chances" to come for the youngster.

"Marcus Rashford has a lot of chances waiting for him. When the team was chasing the ball against Leicester in the Community Shield and tonight, he made a difference for us," he told reporters.

"He gives new problems to the opposition so I am really happy with him and the team. Even defensively, we controlled their counter-attack. We want to be champions, we don't want to start well, we want to finish well."

Rashford's goal means that he is the first teenager to score in the Premier League for a team managed by Mourinho.
