Wayne Rooney has insisted that he is not concerned by his lack of goals so far this season.
The 26-year-old, who is yet to find the net from his five outings, played in a deeper role during Manchester United's 3-0 victory away at Newcastle United earlier today.
Reflecting on his new position, Rooney has revealed that he is more than happy to work hard for the good of the team.
"You're involved in the game throughout and I'm not one who won't put the work in," he told Sky Sports News. "I'll put the work in and try and give my best for the team, and that's all I can do.
"[I'm] not at all [concerned by not scoring], as long as we keep winning. We've got players who can score goals for us as well as myself.
"I'm not concerned. If it comes, it comes, but if not, as long as we're winning then I'm not really concerned about that."
Rooney was named Sports Mole's man of the match in our analysis piece from the Sports Direct Arena.
