Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly increasingly unlikely to move for Roma forward Tammy Abraham during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly ready to end their interest in Roma forward Tammy Abraham.

Having fallen out of favour at the former under Thomas Tuchel, Abraham was allowed to sign for Roma in a £34m deal in 2021.

Overall, the England international's stay at Stadio Olimpico can be regarded as a success with 34 goals and 11 assists coming from 91 appearances in all competitions.

Furthermore, Abraham played an instrumental role in Roma's triumph in the Europa Conference League last season, scoring nine goals as the Italian giants lifted their first-ever European trophy.

However, the 25-year-old has endured a frustrating second campaign at I Giallorossi, chipping in with just seven strikes on the domestic and continental front.

While Abraham is still a valuable member of the squad, his drop off in form could impact a transfer in the summer and Roma's ability to generate a notable profit.

Chelsea are known to possess a £68m buy-back clause which can be activated later this year, while other Premier League clubs are believed to be monitoring any developments which may occur with his future.

Nevertheless, according to ASRomaLive. It, the Blues and Manchester United are increasingly unlikely to make an approach for Abraham.

The report claims that Chelsea are not willing to meet the designated fee in the previous agreement between the sides, leaving them to look elsewhere for a new centre forward.

Meanwhile, United are allegedly expected to end their interest, even though they are in a stronger position to negotiate a lower fee than the release clause available to Chelsea.

Aston Villa are reportedly now the only club who are prepared to tempt Roma into a sale, as it stands, with Unai Emery ready to add another striker to his ranks at the West Midlands outfit.

Villa would be prepared to pay €40m (£35.1m), which would represent a marginal profit for Roma when it comes to FFP.

Abraham is no stranger to life at Villa having scored 26 goals during their Championship promotion campaign during 2018-19, that form earning him a spot in the Chelsea first team the following campaign.
