David Luiz "hopes" that Angel di Maria will join Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz "hopes" that Angel di Maria completes his transfer to the Ligue 1 club from Manchester United.

Former Chelsea defender David Luiz has said he "hopes" that Manchester United midfielder Angel di Maria will join Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc has previously said that the deal for the Argentine is close, and Spanish football expert Guillem Balague today reported that a £44.2m bid has been agreed between the two clubs.

"Every team he plays in he makes the difference," the 28-year old told reporters after PSG's 2-0 pre-season victory over Man United.

"I hope to see him. He is a great friend, a great player."

Manchester United paid £59.7m for Di Maria last summer, and in doing so broke the British transfer record.
