Manchester United 'planning loan exits in January'

Academy player performance manager Les Parry suggests that Manchester United are considering a number of loan exits during the January window.

Academy player performance manager Les Parry has suggested that Manchester United may look to loan a number of players to other clubs in January.

Since the start of the season, several youngsters have been promoted into the first team after United failed to replace the likes of Ander Herrera, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.

However, with the Premier League giants already considering their options ahead of the next transfer window, Parry has acknowledged that several prospects could be allowed to gain senior experience elsewhere.

Speaking to the club's official website, Parry said: "We'll plan it out and we've identified four or five who might be going out in January. Obviously, our first-team manager (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) has a say.

"Angel [Gomes], Tahith [Chong], and James [Garner] could have gone out on loan but he wanted to keep them here and have a look at them on tour. So a decision will be made, no doubt, for January as well. Hopefully, all three will be in the first team and not going anywhere.

"They've been presented with an opportunity and they've taken the opportunity so now a couple of them are regulars on the team sheet each week. We've had opportunities that have cropped up from nowhere. That's football.

"Hopefully, some of the lads out on loan now will also catch the eye as some have gone out with a perception of their ability and where they'll end up but hopefully they'll come back and people will say maybe we've got a little diamond."

As a result of the hectic schedule during the remainder of 2019, many of the club's academy graduates are expected to be given regular game time.
