Manchester United manager David Moyes insists that he is happy with the progress he is making in the transfer market despite reportedly missing out on Thiago Alcantara.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has claimed that he is happy with the progress he is making on transfer targets this summer.

United have seemingly missed out on a number of big names that they were reportedly interested in, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Leighton Baines and Thiago Alcantara.

Thiago looked set to become a United player a week or so ago, but Bayern Munich have since hijacked the bid and are expected to confirm the signing of the Barcelona youngster in the next few days.

When asked whether Thiago was still a target for United, Moyes responded: "I never said at any time he was.

"There are people we are actively chasing and we are happy with the way things are going."

Moyes has also had to contend with persistent rumours over the future of striker Wayne Rooney, who he insists is not for sale.
