Ruben Neves: 'I want to stay at Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Midfielder Ruben Neves says that he would like to remain at Wolverhampton Wanderers next season after helping the club earn promotion to the Premier League.

Midfielder Ruben Neves has said that he would like to remain at Wolverhampton Wanderers next season "if it is possible".

Neves was played an instrumental role in the West Midlands outfit earning promotion to the Premier League with six goals - all from outside of the penalty area - coming in 39 appearances in the Championship.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been previously linked with the Portuguese international, but the player has suggested that he wants to stay at Molineux.

Speaking at the EFL awards, the 21-year-old said: "Yes, I would like to stay. Honestly, I love to play here. I love the boys and I love the fans. I am really happy here. I have it all to stay, but in football we never know.

"Of course, it is my first season in the Premier League. It is the place that Wolves deserve. The fans deserve it as well. So I am happy here, like I said before.

"If it is possible, I would like to stay here to have my first year in the Premier League. We go in the same path, we work hard in the way that we play."

Neves still has over four years remaining on his contract.
