Dean Bowditch has admitted that he is relishing the chance to face off against one of his former clubs this weekend when MK Dons play host to Ipswich Town.
The 29-year-old made his professional breakthrough at Portman Road aged just 16, where he went on to make 82 appearances for the Suffolk side before moving on to Yeovil Town in 2009.
Following a succession of loan spells during his Town days, the attacker has since become more settled with the Dons after spending the last four years at the club.
Bowditch claims that he will have split loyalties on Saturday against a team he still has a "lot of respect for", but is hoping to pick up three valuable points in the Dons' fight for Championship survival.
"I still always look to see how they get on, and I want them to do well, except this weekend of course," he is quoted as saying by the Milton Keynes Citizen. "It was a while ago that I was there now, but I spent a lot of time there and I've got a lot of fond memories of Ipswich.
"It's a club I love and I'm looking forward to playing against them, if I'm playing. I still speak to people there and have a lot of respect for the place."
Bowditch scored nine goals during his time with Ipswich, becoming the youngest player to score a hat-trick when bagging three against Watford in 2004.
