Steve Bruce delighted with Hull City victory

Hull City manager Steve Bruce insists that his side deserved to beat Newcastle United on Saturday.

Steve Bruce insists that his Hull City team deserved to beat Newcastle United 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Despite falling behind twice in the match, Sone Aluko scored a late winner to earn three points, and Bruce believes that his side were well worth their victory.

"I'm absolutely delighted, I have to say. I've been really happy with the way we've played all season," Bruce told BBC Sport. "We created a lot of chances today and we thoroughly deserved our win.

"I'm a Geordie at the end of the day and I've always enjoyed coming back, apart from last time (when his Sunderland side lost 5-1 to the Magpies) but today was very satisfying"

The victory was Hull's second of the season.
