Alan Pardew: 'I will not resign'

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is adamant that he will not quit his job despite the club's recent run of poor form.

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has revealed that he will not resign as the club's manager despite their recent poor form.

The Magpies have lost their last six matches in the Premier League and have won just 13 points since the turn of the year.

Pardew told reporters: "My belief in what I do has to stay strong. I can't give any weak message to my wife, to my daughter and certainly not to the players. And I won't.

"That has to be how you are. If you resign then something is not right in your make up. I honestly believe that you have to be strong when the periods come tough - because they are going to come.

"If you are going to keep resigning when tough periods come and you want out, then you shouldn't be doing the job."

Pardew has been manager at St James' Park since December 2010.
