Former England striker Rodney Marsh believes that footballers should be encouraged to dive.
A number of players are heavily criticised for going to ground too easily, but Marsh believes that being honest could prove to be detrimental to their team.
During West Ham United's 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday evening, Matt Jarvis decided against diving for a penalty, despite being clipped by Bacary Sagna.
"You don't dive, you don't get," Marsh told talkSPORT. "It's as simple as that. Cheating is part of sport. I'd rather be the one punching the ball in the net than losing."
The result placed Arsenal back in the top four of the table.
