Nottingham Forest skipper Chris Cohen still motivated despite latest long-term injury

Nottingham Forest captain Chris Cohen says that his love of football is just as strong despite his latest long-term injury.

Nottingham Forest captain Chris Cohen has said that his love of football is just as strong despite his latest long-term injury.

The 26-year-old's season was ended by a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered towards the end of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Championship leaders Burnley.

He also missed 11 months of football back in 2011 because of anterior cruciate ligament problem in the same knee.

"To not be able to [play] for so long is going to be so tough, and to be honest it probably hasn't sunk in yet," a statement released via the Forest's official website read.

"But when you get the kind of support I have from fans, friends and family it makes the long road that little bit easier. It's an amazing feeling and it keeps me motivated."

Forest lose their captain placed fifth in the table, eight points adrift of the leading trio of Burnley, Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers.
