Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has lavished praise on centre-back Sergio Ramos, who enjoyed a brilliant end to the 2013-14 campaign.
The Spanish international scored twice in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich, before netting a decisive equaliser in the final against Atletico Madrid.
On the defensive side, Ramos has also arguably had his best season in a Madrid shirt and Perez was full of praise for the 28-year-old during a recent interview with Onda Cero.
"Sergio is a phenomenon. He came here as a child and it appeared he had played his life at Santiago Bernabeu," Perez said.
"That's the truth. Now he has matured, he's at an even higher level. I saw him with his son in the celebration and said 'How your life has changed Sergio!'
"He's had a great end to the season. I have to say he's carried the team in to two major games, the semi-final and final. The accumulation of games is such that everyone has been tired so it's remarkable that Sergio has come to that form, above all others."
Ramos joined Madrid from Sevilla in 2005.
