Gareth Bale: 'La Liga more advanced than Premier League'

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale says that La Liga is "more advanced" than the Premier League in terms of tactics and movement of the ball.

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale has claimed that "the passing game is a bit more advanced" in La Liga than in the Premier League.

The Welshman spent six seasons in England's top flight with Tottenham Hotspur, before making the move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.

The 26-year-old won the Champions League and Copa del Rey during his first season at the Bernabeu, while he has netted 58 goals in 122 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Bale has placed the 'physicality' of the Premier League at a much higher level than Spain, but admits that La Liga football is 'more tactical and technical'.

"The biggest thing is that it's more tactical here and more technical I suppose. The passing game is a bit more advanced. The patience. Everything is tactical, the managers always have plans," Bale told BT Sport.

"In the Premier League it's very physical, end to end. Now especially with the Premier League so open, any team can beat anyone. It's more back and forth, 100 miles per hour. But the physicality of the Premier League is definitely the biggest difference between them both.

"I think the difference from the top to the bottom [in La Liga] is very large, whereas in the Premier League the bottom team can easily beat the top team."

Bale's Real Madrid will face Atletico Madrid in the 2016 Champions League final this weekend.
