Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has said that he has been impressed by new manager Rafael Benitez.
The Spaniard was appointed as the boss of the La Liga giants in June after the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti.
"[My first impressions of Rafael Benitez have been] very good. I think that speaks volumes to everyone," Kroos told AS. "He wants us to be a good team next season and I think we have a good chance of winning trophies with him. I hope to have a good year.
"The objective of Real Madrid is always the same - to win every competition that we're in. We'll try to win the league, of course. That's the objective, to win every competition, including the Copa [del Rey] and Champions League.
"We were very close to winning trophies last season but realised how difficult it was, so our objective is to improve ourselves and try to win the League and the Champions League. The Champions League is difficult because there are always four or five candidates, but we have a great team and we'll try to win it."
Madrid will begin their new La Liga season with a trip to Sporting Gijon on August 23.
