Middlesbrough have reportedly been given the all-clear to sign Enzo Fernandez, the son of Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, on loan.
The 21-year-old midfielder currently plies his trade with Real Madrid Castilla and has been on tour with his father and the senior Madrid side in the United States.
Boro manager Aitor Karanka spent a season playing with Zidane at the Bernabeu, and La Gazzetta dello Sport believes that the Teesside club are one of a host of clubs interested in nurturing his talent.
With Castilla dropping down to the third tier of Spanish football, Fernandez has allegedly been advised by his father to seek playing time elsewhere as the standard of football at that level is not deemed good enough to help him develop.
