Francesco Totti: 'Roma can compete with anyone'

Roma captain Francesco Totti lauds their best-ever start in Serie A following an eight successive league win over Inter Milan.

Roma captain Francesco Totti has put the club's promising start in Serie A down to a change of mentality under coach Rudi Garcia, while insisting that their objective remains to earn Champions League qualification.

The Giallorossi maintained their 100% record with a 3-0 win at Inter Milan last night, with Totti scoring a brace in Roma's eighth successive league victory.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "We hope to continue like this. We know there's a long way to go, but with this team we can go far.

"I doubt anyone expected this start to the season. The team is set out well, has international level players and the mind is crucial. When your mind is free of tension, you can do anything.

"You could say anything now. We are a team who can compete with everyone. There are stronger sides, but we will fight to get into the Champions League. That is our objective."

The 39-year-old has been revitalised under Garcia, leading the line with three goals in eight league games.
