Roma are reportedly preparing a summer move for Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Netherlands international, who netted his country's winner in a friendly against Poland on Wednesday night, is widely expected to leave Newcastle this summer following their relegation to the Championship.
Despite his team's struggles during the 2015-16 campaign, Wijnaldum netted 11 Premier League goals and it is understood that he is not short of interest from across Europe.
According to II Massaggero, Roma want the 25-year-old to replace Miralem Pjanic, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.
Wijnaldum penned a five-year contract at St James' Park after joining from PSV Eindhoven last July.
