Former Premier League official Dermot Gallagher praises the work of the fourth official after Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez was sent off against Watford.

Former Premier League official Dermot Gallagher has praised the work of the officials after Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez was dismissed in the 1-1 draw with Watford.

During a battle for the ball with Richarlison on the touchline, Sanchez's elbow made contact with the Brazilian and the decision was made to send off the young centre-back.

Spurs have since decided against appealing the call, and Gallagher has said that the referee and fourth official deserve credit for coming to the correct decision.

Gallagher told Sky Sports News: "This is the right decision and great teamwork from the officials.

"The best view anyone had of this was the fourth official, who relayed to the referee what the player had done. When you see it from behind, it's a definite red card."

Sanchez will now have to sit out Premier League encounters with Stoke City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City.
