Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says that his team will try to "kill" Manchester City in their Premier League clash later today.

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that his Tottenham Hotspur team will try to "kill" Manchester City when the two sides go head to head in Saturday's late kickoff.

Pep Guardiola's men are on a high having smashed the Premier League record for most consecutive victories with a 4-0 thumping over Swansea City in midweek.

The North-West outfit have won 15 on the trot, and Tottenham will attempt to end that positive run by searching for their third victory on the bounce following a four-game winless spell in the top flight.

Pochettino has likened the "aura" around City to the atmosphere of his camp last season when Spurs tried to beat Chelsea to the league title, but in the end finished second.

"I agree with you in terms of the aura," FourFourTwo quotes the Argentine coach as saying. "For us, we felt the same last season at White Hart Lane - that something special happened around the team.

"I think it was a player a week or two ago that said, 'Wow, I remember last season, we always start 1-0 up at White Hart Lane because something special was happening'.

"And for the opponent, it was tough to play against us, but now, of course, City are doing fantastic. But, we're going there to fight, to kill them and try to win."

Fourth-placed Tottenham sit 18 points adrift of leaders City.
