Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane revels in his side's 3-0 win at Manchester United and hails the quality in the Lilywhites' ranks.

Harry Kane has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur's 3-0 win against Manchester United will send out "a big statement" to the rest of his side's Premier League title rivals.

The Lilywhites recorded just their fourth league victory at Old Trafford in 40 years to maintain their perfect start to the season three games in.

Spurs are now up to second in the early standings, behind leaders Liverpool on goal difference, and Kane - the scorer of Tottenham's opening goal this evening - is now intent on making some history over the coming months.

"That's massive. To come here and win the way we did is a big statement," he told Sky Sports News. "Three wins out of three, it's a fantastic start. We did well to come in at 0-0 at half time. In the big games, the first goal is so important. We then saw the game out great. This is the only way we're going to win the league.

"The top six is so strong now you have to stay at the top all the way through. This will give us huge belief and this is the type of game we have to win. We're trying to create our own history. We're not a club who have been at the top of the league winning titles like United and Chelsea. We've been doing well but we've not quite got there.

"We've got the hunger and the desire to take the club to the next level. For us, it's a about building what we've been doing for the last four of five years now. We've got so much belief in each other. A lot of us have been playing for a while now and that always helps.

"You're not going to play well every game, but we stuck together and we kept going. The gaffer said he's not going to bring players in for the sake of it. He believes in this squad and that's a huge bonus for us. We have to prove him right and prove the club right as well."

Lucas Moura doubled Tottenham's lead shortly after Kane's headed opener, before rounding off the scoring late on.
