La Liga side Villarreal have revealed that they are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado.
The 30-year-old has struggled in his two seasons at White Hart Lane, and has netted just seven Premier League goals.
He has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain in this window, with Europa League winners Seville reportedly keen.
However, when asked about the forward, Villarreal coach Marcelino told reporters: "He is a footballer who is very capable. The fact that he has lacked regular playing time and has not had the confidence of his team in the past two seasons may have affected his performances.
"But it's difficult for one who has always scored goals to forget how to do so. We want strikers that can increase the team level and can add more competitiveness to our group."
Soldado signed for Spurs for £26m from Valencia in 2013.
