Kenwyne Jones says that he wants to start more games for Stoke City having been limited to cameos from the bench so far this season.

Stoke City striker Kenwyne Jones is hoping that his recent displays coming off the bench will earn him a place in the side's starting XI.

The Trinidad & Tobago forward has started just five matches for the Potters in 2012, with the last once of those starts coming in May.

Jones impressed with his 15-minute cameo in the 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend, and the 28-year-old is hoping that the performance could result in a starting berth.

"I have to be careful how I am answering this question; I don't want to be too honest," said Jones. "I guess the manager knows what his plans are for the season, so all I can do is just keep doing what I am doing. Hopefully that will warrant some sort of reward before the season ends.

"I can only do what I can. There are quite a few players in that position and we are all working hard to try to get that place.

"Whether or not we get it is a different story, but every day we are going to keep working and keep grinding away to try to make ourselves and the team better."

Stoke travel to West Ham United in their next Premier League game on Monday.
