Hannover sporting director Dirk Dufner has claimed that Stoke City have not made a bid for Senegal international Mame Biram Diouf.
The 25-year-old, who has previously played for Manchester United, has scored 27 goals for Hannover during his 18 months in Germany.
Stoke chairman Peter Coates confirmed last week that the Potters are interested in Diouf's services, but Dufner has claimed that a bid has not been made.
He told Bild: "I see the opportunities still not bad. At the moment, Mame will not sign. It is not bad if he waits for the end of the transfer period, then signs just after August 31."
A number of European clubs are reported to be interested in his services.
