Senegalese defender Kader Mangane has signed a six-month loan deal with Premier League outfit Sunderland.
The 29-year-old, who arrived on Wearside over the weekend for talks with manager Martin O'Neill, could turn his move into a permanent one at the end of the current season.
"Kader is player who will add to the overall strength of our squad and give us options. He will improve competition for places and we are delighted to welcome him to the club," O'Neill told the club's official website.
Mangane has not signed in time to feature in the FA Cup against Bolton Wanderers tomorrow evening. As a result, his debut is likely to come against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
The centre-back has made six senior appearances for his country.
