Clement: 'Fans are helping Swansea City'

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement says that having the club's supporters "connected" with the players can only help his team move out of trouble in the top flight.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has praised the club's supporters for their conduct during the goalless draw with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Welsh outfit went into the match at the Liberty Stadium having lost seven of 11 matches in all competitions, but Clement's side were good value for their point against the in-form Cherries.

Swansea remain in the Premier League relegation zone but ahead of a trip to Chelsea, Clement was in a positive frame of mind after an improved performance from his players.

The 45-year-old told reporters: "I certainly felt the club was more connected: on the pitch and into the crowd. It was a massive help to the players.

"There were mistakes but the supporters were patient and got behind them and the two sides working together gives you a much better chance."

Swansea have not registered three points in the top flight since a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town on October 14.
