Malky Mackay confident of Wigan Athletic turnaround

New manager Malky Mackay says that he will work from "morning to night" to turn Wigan Athletic's fortunes around in the Championship.

New Wigan Athletic manager Malky Mackay has expressed confidence in both himself and his players to start climbing the Championship table.

The Latics are second-from-bottom with just three wins to their name all season, and Mackay is yet to win since taking over last month.

Yesterday they suffered their second straight defeat with a 1-0 loss at home to Mackay's former club Norwich City.

"For us to end up with that much possession in the game today but come away without a win is disappointing but something that we have to keep striving for," Mackay told the club website.

"There's nothing else for it but to work hard; I've been here three weeks, I've got a good, honest group of players and I know that but we've got to make sure we turn that into wins.

"That's why I'm here, that's what I do and I'll work from morning to night to make sure that we turn this around for Wigan Athletic."

Mackay's next opportunity for a win comes on Saturday when the Latics travel to playoff hopefuls Watford.
