Kenny Jackett to learn Wolverhampton Wanderers fate today

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett reveals that the club's new owners will inform him of his fate today.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has revealed that he will meet with the club's new owners Fosun International today to discuss his future.

The Chinese conglomerate are expected to relieve Jackett of his duties following their £30m takeover of the Championship side last week.

Former Porto boss Julen Lopetegui had an agreement in place to succeed Jackett but the plans were thrown into disarray when he instead decided to accept the Spain national job just hours before the Wolves takeover deal was announced.

Jackett was in the dugout as usual for Wolves' pre-season friendly at Port Vale yesterday, when he took the opportunity to have a brief chat with Fosun's Jeff Shi.

"They've said they want to settle the situation down, which is very good news for me," he told the Express & Star. "I've spoken to them and we will meet tomorrow (Sunday) on the way forward in terms of the squad.

"It's good the takeover's been settled, it's run throughout the summer. It's about now making the right, key decisions. We need to concentrate on the football.

"We're behind slightly. Summer planning is a vital thing and there's no loan window this year, and our summer has been reduced."

Jackett took over at Wolves in 2013, leading the club to the League One title with a record points total for the division during his first season in charge. In the club's first season back in the Championship his side finished outside the playoffs on goal difference alone, while a lacklustre campaign last season saw them limp to a mid-table finish.
