Jez Moxey: 'Molineux expansion on hold'

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey reveals that the club have put plans to expand Molineux on hold for the foreseeable future.

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey has revealed that the club will not be expanding Molineux after their return to the Championship.

There is a long-term plan at the West Midlands outfit to make continuing alterations to their ground, with the Stan Cullis Stand being completed last year.

However, despite growing attendances in response to their performances during the current campaign, Moxey has insisted that funds will be spent elsewhere.

Moxey is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "It's exactly the same situation as it was – we're concentrating on the training ground. That project is well under way, so there are no plans at the moment to do anything structural with Molineux.

"Capacity crowds and demand and football success would ultimately change that. But we hope to see a rise in crowds from this season to next season."

Wolves have returned to English football's second tier after previously suffering back-to-back relegations.
