Hull KR maintain perfect Super 8s record

Hull Kingston Rovers maintain their 100% record in the Super League Super 8s Qualifiers by beating Sheffield Eagles 38-28.

Hull Kingston Rovers have outlasted Sheffield Eagles 38-28 at Bramall Lane to remain unbeaten in the Super League Super 8s Qualifiers.

The Eagles went ahead early on with a try from Eric Battye but Hull KR managed a reply midway through the first half with Ken Sio sliding into the corner.

Kieran Dixon missed the following conversion but Hull KR seized control after John Davies was sin-binned moments after coming on, with tries from Maurice Blair and Sio helping to stamp home the man advantage before half time.

Quentin Laulu-Togague pulled a try back for Sheffield just after the break but Sio completed his trio of scores minutes later for the table toppers.

Ryan Miller ran in a try minutes later but scores from Adam Walker, Kris Welham and Matthew Marsh sealed the win for Hull KR.

Miller added two late tries in the final 10 minutes to earn himself a hat-trick and cause a few nervous moments at the end of the game, but Hull KR stood firm.

The win preserves Hull KR's 100% record while the Eagles remain rooted to the bottom of the Super League Super 8s qualification table.
