Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of day 11 of the French Open at Roland Garros.
World number one Novak Djokovic came back from the brink against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Tuesday, eventually securing his spot in the last four with a three-sets-to-two win.
Roger Federer also booked his spot in the last four with a spirited victory over the Argentine Juan Martin del Potro.
On the women's side of the draw, Sam Stosur and Sara Errani both secured their spot in the final four of the tournament.
Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are both in action in the men's side of the draw this afternoon. Meanwhile, women's favourite Maria Sharapova also takes to the court.
Note that play gets underway at 1pm.
19.54Right, that's about it from Sports Mole today. You could argue that it fell short of the drama of Tuesday, but there was still some stellar tennis on display today. Tomorrow is the small matter of the women's semi-finals so we'll be bringing you live text commentary of Samantha Stosur's clash with Sara Errani and Maria Sharapova's encounter with Petra Kvitova. Please make sure to join us from 1pm. Thanks again for joining us, enjoy your evening. Au revoir!
19.48While we're at it, a big shout should go to 17-year-old Kyle Edmund from Hull who defeated second seed Gianluigi Quinzi in three sets earlier today to reach the fourth round of the boys' singles tournament.
19.46One thing which littered Murray's play today was the unforced errors. His judgement on a lot of shots was poor. That takes his record against Ferrer on clay to 0-4.
19.42And there it is. Murray's forehand goes wide which means that Ferrer has reached the semi-finals of the French Open for the first time in his career. That was a typically dogged display from the Spaniard. Murray was certainly below par, but Ferrer was just too good. His reward for the victory is a meeting with fellow countryman Rafael Nadal in the last four.
19.40RESULT: Ferrer 6-4 6-7 6-3 6-2 Murray
19.38Ferrer wastes one by finding the net.
19.38But he's crumbling! Ferrer has two match points!
19.36One thing for sure is that the Roland Garros crowd want him to stay here. They're chanting his name loudly out there.
19.34And Ferrer has the game. Murray can only put his laboured shot into the net. He'll now serve to stay in the French Open.
19.34The Spaniard now has the advantage thanks to another fierce forehand. He had Murray falling all over the place there.
19.32Deary me. Ferrer double faults and we're back to deuce.
19.30So close! Murray flashes a forehand across court but it goes the wrong side of the brackets. Deuce.
19.29And now he has a break point.
19.29The Scot is in with a chance here. Ferrer goes long and it's 30-30...
19.27Murray holds. He demonstrated some wonderful shots in that game but is it all too little, too late?
19.24The relentless Spaniard somehow gets it back to deuce on the Murray serve.
19.20Ferrer now takes a 4-1 lead after Murray hits wide. He's pulled some sensational comebacks out of the bag in the past, but the Scot needs some kind of miracle out here now. Ferrer is playing like the Terminator.
19.18That is superb. A long rally is ended when Murray drops a beautiful sliced forehand over the net. Great stuff from the fourth seed.
19.16Ferrer breaks! Yet again Murray lashes his shot long and the Spaniard goes 3-1 up. It looks like a long way back for the Scot.
19.15This is looking ominous for Murray now. A forehand goes wide and Ferrer has a break point.
19.12That was a gruelling game for both players there, but Ferrer eventually holds with an ace to go 2-1 ahead in the fourth.
19.09...But Ferrer saves with an ace.
19.09Murray moves to break point...
19.08It's now advantage Ferrer following another long forehand from Murray.
19.07Some glorious play there. The two men joust at the net, but Ferrer comes out on top with a deft volley. 40-30.
19.04How frustrating for Murray. His forehand goes marginally wide and Ferrer has the break. He'll be angry with himself for not consolidating the previous break. 1-1.
19.02It's careless again from Murray. He finds the net with a forehand to make it 30-30 on his serve.
19.00That's more like it from Murray! A powerful backhand down the line gives him break point before he wins it when Ferrer's backhand hits the net. That was some rally, and what a start to the fourth for the Scot.
18.56Murray is in desperate need of some inspiration from somewhere. He's starting to look beaten out there and there is now way that Ferrer will be taking his foot off the gas anytime soon. The Spaniard will get us underway in the fourth.
18.55SET! That was careless from Murray. He hits a routine forehand ridiculously long to give Ferrer the set. It's now 2-1 to the world number six.
18.54The Scot looks ruffled. He goes long and Ferrer has another set point.
18.52But Murray saves it with a powerful forehand which flies past the Spaniard.
18.51In contrast, Ferrer seems positively possessed. He's certainly got his eyes on the prize as he gets a set point.
18.50Murray looks to be losing it a little here. A tame shot goes into the net and it's 30-30.
18.47It's looking like an uphill task for Murray now. Ferrer holds serve thanks to a disguised forehand. The Scot is now serving to stay in the set.
18.44But Ferrer gets the break. Murray should have done a lot better with a smash, but he puts it right back at his opponent. Murray then puts a limp volley into the net to make it 4-3 to Ferrer.
18.43Murray saves one thanks to Ferrer's wide backhand.
18.42And Ferrer now has three break points! Incredible stuff.
18.41The world number four is struggling to capitalise on the break as he hits long to make it 0-30.
18.40Game on! Murray breaks with a bludgeoned forehand into the corner. He had Ferrer on the ropes there and was able to finish him off.
18.38Murray earns the first point on Ferrer's serve with a ruthless forehand wide of his opponent. Ferrer then whacks the ball high and wide to make it 0-30.
18.37That's a determined effort from Murray. Ferrer does his best to get down with his backhand, but he can only find the net. Murray holds to make it 3-2.
18.35But Murray gets it to deuce with a precise forehand right into the corner.
18.34And now Ferrer has another break point courtesy of a perfectly-weighted sliced backhand.
18.34Wow. Murray simply stopped play there having judged Ferrer's shot to have been long. The umpire comes over to back up the Brit. It's 30-30.
18.32The Spaniard holds following another misjudged backhand from Murray. It's now 3-1 to Ferrer in the third.
18.30The Brit is berating himself once more as he fires long to put Ferrer 30-0 up.
18.28And Ferrer has the break. Murray is angry with himself after he slams a backhand into the net. How telling could that error be? 2-1 to the sixth seed.
18.27Now Ferrer has the break point!
18.26Wow. Ferrer has Murray running about all over the place before he cuts short the rally. Back to deuce.
18.24Murray had the advantage, but a forehand into the corner puts us at deuce. You get the feeling that the whole third set hinges on this game...
18.21Ferrer isn't giving this one up easily. We're back to deuce again following a ferocious forehand from the Spaniard.
18.19Murray had a chance to hold there but an ugly forehand goes wide and takes us to deuce.
18.17Ferrer raises his eyebrows in surprise as he puts a backhand wide. 30-15 Murray.
18.16The Spaniard seems totally unaffected by the break in play as he holds after Murray puts his forehand long.
18.12With one set to each player's name, Murray held serve to take the lead in the third before the rain hit. Ferrer will now get us underway...
18.09Here comes Murray and Ferrer. Play to resume now.
18.08Nice bright sunshine in Paris now, that's more like it...

17.52It seems that this one could be a lengthy delay. Let's hope it eases off.
17.49You just get the feeling that Murray will go on and win this match from here. If the rain ever stops...
17.46The rain is getting quite heavy now. Play is suspended once more. Hopefully it's just temporary.
17.44Such an important hold for Murray as he moves 1-0 ahead in the third set. However, it is still so finely balanced.
17.42So here we go then. We enter the third set between Ferrer and Murray at one-set-all.

16.48It is understood that the players will wait for five minutes while the rain clears.

13.20And she does. We begin with three breaks of serve as Sharapova leads 2-1.
13.20Chance for Sharapova to break once more as Kanepi can only fire long. I can sense a trend appearing.
13.17Meanwhile, Shvedova has broken Kvitova early on to take a 2-0 lead.
13.17As predicted, Kanepi breaks back to level it at 1-1 in the opening set.
13.15Shvedova holds her opening service game to lead Kvitova 1-0.
13.150-30 as Sharapova fires long. Are we heading for another match of break after break?
13.13Sharapova makes the perfect start as she breaks to move 1-0 ahead. Meanwhile, Shvedova and Kvitova is also underway.
13.13One ace and two double-faults in the opening service game from Kanepi thus far.
13.10Here we go then. Kanepi vs. Sharapova.
13.07Meanwhile, we will be focusing our attention on the match between Kanepi and Sharapova. Let's hope the rain stays away.
13.04What about the women? Can Shvedova overcome the current Wimbledon champion Kvitova?
13.01Meanwhile, Almagro has lost his last five matches with Nadal. Not great reading for the former ahead of their encounter.
12.58We could potentially have men's semi-final clashes of Federer vs. Djokovic, and Nadal vs. Murray. Wow.
12.55If we have half as much controversy and excitement as we had yesterday, then we are in for some treat on day 11!
12.52First up this afternoon we have the two women's matches between Kanepi and Sharapova, and Shvedova and Kvitova.
12.49In truth, it was much more straight-forward in the women's round of fixtures with Stosur and Errani both advancing with two-sets-to-nil victories.
12.46Federer was also asked to dig deep against his Argentine opponent. Del Potro secured the first two sets of the match, but his persistent knee injury troubled him as the match developed. Federer had experience to draw on, having recovered from this position six times before and he eventually secured the match.
12.43Looking back to yesterday's matches, and it could have ended oh so different for Djokovic. Tsonga carved out four match points against the world number one, but he simply could not finish the job. The Frenchman showed such belief to take a two-sets-to-one lead in the match. However, when the world number one secured the fourth, there was only ever going to be one winner.
12.40On the women's side of the draw, Stosur and Errani have already booked their invite to the party. They will be joined by the winners of today's two clashes.
12.37We already know the first men's clash of the semi-finals - with Djokovic taking on Federer. Meanwhile, the winner of today's two games will complete the final four.
12.34Following that, David Ferrer will clash with Murray in arguably the men's tie of the day's play.
12.31Meanwhile, Yaroslava Shvedova and Petra Kvitova will open up the afternoon's play on Court Suzanne Lenglen.
12.28A certain Mr. Nadal will then entertain Nicolas Almagro in the final match on that particular court.
12.25We've got four fantastic matches to bring you on day 11. Kaia Kanepi and Maria Sharapova will open up proceedings on Court Philippe Chartier.
