Roger Federer has cemented a place in the second round of the French Open after defeating Tobias Kamke 6-2 7-5 6-3.
The former world number one began the contest on the front foot, snatching the first break of serve to claim the advantage in Paris.
While Kamke managed to execute a host of impressive shots around the clay court, the 25-year-old didn't have enough to cause Federer any serious problems, which allowed the Swiss pro to take the opening set.
The second set was a less comfortable affair for Federer, as Kamke managed to impose his game and take a break of serve away from the number three seed.
Despite a positive surge, Kamke failed to keep up his dominance, which allowed Federer to resume control and edge the second set.
The former French Open winner didn't waver in his quest to win the contest following a number of precise shots and control over the clay court.
While Kamke tried to force through a fourth set, Federer managed to clinch victory with ease.
