World number one Novak Djokovic has overcome an ankle problem to play at the Monte Carlo Masters 2013.
Djokovic was a doubt for the tournament after he suffered an ankle injury during Serbia's Davis Cup tie with USA last weekend. However, scans showed that there was no ligament damage to his ankle and he has decided to take part in the event.
Rafael Nadal will also play, and will attempt to win the title for the ninth consecutive year. Nadal has won 35 of 37 matches played on clay in the last 12 months.
Roger Federer and David Ferrer will not compete at the tournament.
Djokovic is seeded first for the event, with Britain's Andy Murray second.
